Prehistoric skeleton can stay in museum despite Druid anger

The Council of British Druid Orders had recently out in a request with English Heritage, an advisory that reports to the British Parliament. COBDO had requested that the neolithic remains of a human, originally found in 1929, not be placed in Keiller in Avebury, but rather reburied for spiritual reasons. English Heritage rejected this request stating that the benefits coming from the research and study of the remains "far outweighed" the harm done. This is a similar situation that has arisen many times within the field of archaeology. It most notably happens with the disturbance of American Indian graves in America, but also around the world. I am always a little bit torn as a Druid, and as someone who does venerate my ancestors, but as an anthropologist, I have to agree with English Heritage. I'd be curious to know what other Pagans, especially Druids, thought about this though.
